CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager)
CIPM covers establishing, maintaining and managing a privacy program across its operational life cycle: governance, data assessments, protection, metrics and incident response. The IAPP aims it at professionals responsible for integrating privacy requirements into business operations.
Exam Details
Computer-based exam at Pearson VUE test centers or through OnVUE online proctoring, with one 15-minute break allowed.
Same price for members and non-members. The IAPP discounts first-time exams for holders of another IAPP certification and retakes of a failed exam. Non-members also need the US$250 certification maintenance fee to activate the certification.
Requirements and Renewal
Prerequisites
None. The IAPP has no experience or prerequisite certification requirement. Candidates must test within one year of buying an exam, and the IAPP recommends at least 30 hours of study.
Renewal
20 CPE credits per two-year term plus a US$250 certification maintenance fee per term. The fee is included in IAPP membership (US$295 a year).
