Requirements and Renewal
Prerequisites
No prior certification required. CompTIA recommends at least 10 years of general hands-on IT experience, including 5 years of hands-on security, with Network+, Security+, CySA+, Cloud+, and PenTest+ or equivalent knowledge.
Renewal
Earn 75 CEUs in the three-year cycle and pay a $150 CE fee, earn a qualifying non-CompTIA certification, or pass the latest SecurityX exam. Earning or renewing SecurityX also renews CySA+, PenTest+, Security+, Network+, and A+.
